David Lee Roth (born October 10 1954 in Bloomington, Indiana) is an American rock vocalist, songwriter, rock climber, adventurer, actor, author, and former radio personality, perhaps best known for his work with the band Van Halen and his fast-talking, oversized personality. He left Van Halen at the pinnacle of his tenure with them in 1985 (being replaced by Montrose's Sammy Hagar) and formed a solo band. After some time spent performing lounge jazz to small audiences, Roth recruited a wondergroup of Steve Vai (guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass) and Greg Bisonette (drums), and released the wildly successful 'Eat 'em and Smile' album in 1986. For a while, Roth's success equaled that of his own band; but while Van Halen became huge with Hagar behind the mic, DLR's star faded over time. After the impressive dream-team line-up of the David Lee Roth band imploded due to ego, guitar prodigy Jason Becker (formerly of Cacophony) was bought into the fold in 1989.

Ladies Nite In Buffalo Lyrics

David Lee Roth

Talk about the high cost of lovin'
I think I hear freedom drummin'
It seems
Give me your heart
And I'll give you the stars
"Yeah right", she says
"Maybe in your dreams"
(pre-chorus)
Heat wave blast, kids are screamin'
Pavement's hot (and the) sidewalk's steamin'
Only me, happens every time
Thinkin' 'bout you and me
Hello - Goodbye
(chorus)
You can jazz it up or play it slow
It's still the only song I know
It's 2 a.m. and traffic's slow
Another ladies's nite in Buffalo
I was listenin' to the DJ sayin'
"Put the stone behind", he said
Then the words can blow better, better
I don#t mind some stormy wheather
Tonight, no
I can feel it, the
(pre-chorus)
Put the top down, hit the road
I sing the only song we know
It's 2 a.m. the traffic's slow
It looks like ladie's nite in Buffalo
Oh, baby
(spoken)
I got kinda sense of deja vu
I could swear I've seen you somewhere before
You don't think you've ever seen me somewhere before, do you, huh?
So it must have been two other people
I know, baby, I say, I didn't wanna half drag you
It's too far to drive back, baby
I don't wanna drive alone tonight
(chorus)
Well it ain't much all right I know
But it's the only song I know
2 a.m. and the traffic's slow
Another ladie's nite in Buffalo
