David Lee Roth (born October 10 1954 in Bloomington, Indiana) is an American rock vocalist, songwriter, rock climber, adventurer, actor, author, and former radio personality, perhaps best known for his work with the band Van Halen and his fast-talking, oversized personality. He left Van Halen at the pinnacle of his tenure with them in 1985 (being replaced by Montrose's Sammy Hagar) and formed a solo band. After some time spent performing lounge jazz to small audiences, Roth recruited a wondergroup of Steve Vai (guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass) and Greg Bisonette (drums), and released the wildly successful 'Eat 'em and Smile' album in 1986. For a while, Roth's success equaled that of his own band; but while Van Halen became huge with Hagar behind the mic, DLR's star faded over time. After the impressive dream-team line-up of the David Lee Roth band imploded due to ego, guitar prodigy Jason Becker (formerly of Cacophony) was bought into the fold in 1989.

Lady Luck Lyrics

David Lee Roth

Aww yeah!
I'm off an' runnin'
Clear off the beaten path
I don't know where I'm goin'
But I know that I ain't comin' back
Don't know where I'm goin'
But I can't wait to get there
Sometimes I laugh to win
Cause he who laughs lasts
I see the headlights burnin'
Casts a magic spell
Will I make that turn?
An' only time will tell
Time after time I'm walkin' the line
Between trouble an' my Lady Luck
I can't deny that woman is mine, all right
Lady Luck
She said...
Don't sing me ballads
Life's a game for me
She liked to ride 'em cowboy
So don't throw that book at me
And ride 'em cowboy that we did
More than most could stand
Pass the buck an' live it up
Then she found another man
Who can race me child?
Who can tell it well?
Who can take me, baby?
Only time will tell!
Time after time I'm walkin' the line
Between trouble an' my Lady Luck
I can't deny that woman is mine, all right
Lady Luck, yeah!
Oooh, baby
Ow...all right
Trouble ahead, trouble behind
Woh, yeah, Lady of mine, yeah
Mine all right
Hear the light'nin', whoa yeah
And fear the thunder, whoa yeah
Aww right!
I'm hot!!
Wow!
Now baby please, baby...Please!
Lady luck, I tried to please tho'
I seen your behind, aw yeah
All right
Baby please...
Trouble ahead, Trouble behind
Never leave me Lady Luck
Trouble ahead, Trouble behind
Lady Luck
Whoa, all right...
